HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I know, it's late, but still.
We have been talking about adding something to the left side of the site. Well, I don't think we can do that any more. I played with it for a bit, and this is way better.
Anyway, we have announced 2 games after SoD, SG: O, and the online game. You can read about them on the forums.
New update for our online game. We have decided to make this a 6-player game, so we needed 6 characters. We have decided on Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Amy, and Espio. Not sure on all the characters powers, but you can read on the forums what we're still deciding.
We will be having a 6-player Story mode. You will be able to choose your character, and then go online and play through the story.
We are also putting in a Vs. mode, like I already said. But if you give us a mostly complete sprite sheet or sprite that you want in the game, it will most likely get put in. You will be able to battle with your own character, and only you will be able to choose it. You will get a special password for your character, and you can then log in as your character. Or something where you can get your character. Whatever it is, custom characters are in the game.
Also, we will be including custom levels into at least the 1P story mode. Most likely they will get put in to the online Story mode, but they will get in the game somewhere. You can also send us custom Vs. maps that we will most likely put in.
Some other things we are considering is a Race mode, where you will, well, race. Through levels, most likely in the style of the S3&K race, or the SA2 races. But of course it will be online, so you don't have the split screen.
If you have any suggestions, head to the forums and tell us them! Or just send me or Blackarms an email.
Update for our online game. We're going to be including a Vs mode. We are currently developing what they should look like. We have already designed Green Hill and Icecap.
Speaking of Green Hill, we are now including all Genesis games. This will include Sonic 1 and possibly Sonic CD (they are pretty similar). We also might be including levels designed by people other then SEGA. If you have made a custom level pack, send it to us or post it on the forums.
We'll have more soon. We're still planning it out. If you have an idea, post it in the Suggestions section on the forums for SG: O.
An idea came up on the forums recently that we design a remake of S3&K, and the suggested title was S3&K+. Obviously, we aren't using that. We have decided that for now it will be called "Sonic Genesis: Online". If you know anything about Sonic Adventure: Online, this has nothing to do with that. This is a game where you can play as 1 of 4 characters (Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, and Shadow) through the game in Single player, or even play in a multiplayer co-op mode. To find out more, check the forums or go to
the Details page for SG: O.
Well, yesterday I got my own copy of Symbols of Destiny. I made a quick run through, but then I started messing with it. I made a new title screen, and it was decided to be the official title screen. It is now in the archive
"12-11-05".
Now, I did mention that I've played what Blackarms has already made for the game. Here's what I've got to say:
The very first level was unique, but it was the same tile over and over. Other then that the first level was fine, although short.
The second level was very good. You jumped down through it with tons of enemies to fight. There were two points that you went into water. If you didn't kill them all, you went back to the top and started all over again, except that enemies you had killed were gone still. Only one mission had been open, so I didn't get to see the difference in missions.
One thing I didn't like was a ramp near the start (I'll add a pic to the
archive of it) that was a a 45 degree angle. Shadow, when going down this, sometimes goes into his falling animation, lands, and stops. This will get fixed soon, but it's there right now.
One of the next levels, Egg Factory, was still in the works. It was very nice, although some parts were pixelated. Pertty good so far. I'll add some pics from it to the
archive. I talked to Blackarms, and he said it was done.
All in all, I liked the game so far. It's not that far in, but it works quite well.
A new site update, we've hit 10 posts, so I've added a Post Archive to the Nav bar. You can view all old posts from a certain month.
I have just put all of the format for the site into a better layout, so now the font of the table is what I wanted it to be. Now it's on all browsers, though, so you people on IE can see it the size I intended. It works exactly how I wanted on all browsers now.
Our site now works very well on all web browsers. Of course, it still runs best on Firefox and Netscape, but now you can see everything on the page well in any browser. If you have any problems, go to the forums and post it in Site Suggestions.
I am very happy right now. I have just changed the stie from frames to divisions. Now, it's all one page, and your browser is told what to do by, not the .htm pages, but a normal .txt document! Well, almost. But anyway, we've remade the site!
Also, while I was doing this, I found a cool Javascript applett thingy that added a chat room! Yay! Now we can chat on our site, not just in the CBox (the thing at the bottom of the forums)!!!
I'm going to be re-designing the site soon. Since it will be completely recoded (same info, better look), what do you want added to the site? Anything you want, if I can put it in I will.
When I am setting up the new site (since it is kinda new), you will be able to see my progress
here.
We have made the pics page a bit easier to use. Now, instead of it being a lot of extra work to see the pics full-sized, you can just click on them to get the to fill the screen. It will still leave open the menu and the header, but the main screen will have the pics in them when you click on them.
You also can now go to the Staff page and send us emails! Anyone who has their name underlined can be contacted there. It says what they do next to their name, so you'll know who to send what to.
Now that we've gathered some posts together, we will soon be creating an Archive page. It will hold any post that has been made here by month and year. So all the posts from when we started the site to today will go in one page. That page will most likely be called November 2005. They will be in order, like on the site.
